Last week it was brought to many peoples attention that many of the inmates in jail have banned stuff. A dangerous criminal rang in to Joe Duffy on liveline to abuse the crime journilist Paul Williams. This doesn't sound that harmless but the fact was he was calling from the most high security prison in the country in the most high security wing. What emerged from this story was the fact that it was relatively easy for inmates to get hold of such items as mobile phones which would allow them to continue their illegal activity from whithin their confined four walls.
Recenctly a series of high profile searches were undertook and many items were confiscated including alcohol, drugs, needles mobile phones and a Budgie?
Thebudgie, believed to have been smuggled into the jail by a female visitor who concealed the bird internally in her body, is understood to have belonged to a prisoner serving a long-term jail sentence.
Not only is that disgusting but also ridiculous that the guards didn't find it before,
